I spent the entire day at home today. I spent a little while cleaning up the back porch, which was full of dead leafs. Those stubborn things are really hard to pick up with a broom, especially the flimsy one that I was using. I cleaned up the litter box and gave it new lining, swept the floors and took out the garbage and the recycling. I played piano, talked to mommy on the phone for a while, and 魯ed some chicken with the leftover basil from the cooking competition. Oh yes and I managed to browse two geotechnical papers that we had been assigned to read. So all in all, it was a nice and relaxing day full of doing the little things that I have been too busy to do lately.
After Julie came home we listened to some music together. I played her a few songs from "Live at Magee" and I'm still amazed at how good those guys sound. We sang a lot of hymns and Christian music. And I just thought it was awesome that a lot of the kids in the Magee choirs weren't even Christian but their lips sang words that praised their creator. He must've been smiling down from Heaven while they sang! Julie and I also listened to a few songs by 'Stream of Praise', a praise and worship group formed by some Taiwanese Americans. One song that really touched me was 寶貴十架. The melody is beautiful, and the lyrics are great as well :o) Check it out! Julie and I shared how much we both love music and how we both really want to be in a choir. I think singing is one of my great loves in this life time. God gave me the ability to be able to sing and when I do there is NOTHING else in the world that I would rather be doing. Singing heals my soul. It is truly a gift from God, and I want to use my voice to glorify him.
We prayed to Gregorian Chants tonight, in my room. Charlie started off in my lap but soon escaped :oP We always talk about the different things we want to pray about before we start. These included praying for both our families that they may get to know God better and have the desires in their hearts to be closer to him. We prayed for the C&C Fellowship, that everyone may grow spirituality, together in Christ's care. We prayed for the joint congregational meeting tomorrow, where elders and deacons from the 1oam, 12:30pm, and 2:00pm services will get together to talk about future plans and how we plan on going forward in this joint mission of serving the Lord as Christians in this community. We prayed for God to grant us strength in our school work. It was so wonderful to pray together.....to come together as children of God, with hearts longing for the same things.
I think Julie is an angel that God sent into my life. Through her I have been inspired to know and love God more, to develop a personal relationship with him, and to be a witness to others, to spread the good news of Christ's love. Julie if you are reading this, you have really touched my life in a very spiritual way. Praise the Lord! Be bold to share the good news of the gospel because you never know, you might just touch someone's heart. It feels like my level of spiritual maturity has grown exponentially over the past month (sorry, the engineer inside me is speaking). It is exciting and at the same time, I feel a little bit scared. What if I come crashing down? I feel the joy that I do now but I am just waiting for something terrible to happen in my life so my faith can really be tested. But then when I feel this way I just pray, I pray to God for more faith. God will catch me when I fall, and I want to be his faithful servant all the days of my life!
