Judge not - the actual entry

Recent events have strained the relationship with a good friend. For a while, I was quite angry and frustrated with what had been happening. I didn't know what to do. Alas, as a storm, no matter how dark and violent, never lasts, the sea always returns to its calmness.

At first I thought my trust had been betrayed, and that I was the victim in the situation. I kept repeating the events to myself and thinking of what should have been done, and what I would've done if was in the shoes of the one who caused all the calamity.

Yet after all that's happened, I realized that I still care for this person deeply. I suppose I was in deeper than I thought. Or perhaps when you are a true friend to someone, forgiveness comes more readily. I thought about my own life - self examination is always important. If I was not me, but rather somebody else, who was looking at the events that have occurred in my life - all the things I've done, the lies I've told, the people I've hurt, I probably would've have told myself to stay away from this person. So what right did I have to judge another, especially when I saw so much of myself in this person. Christ forgave me for my sins, and it was by his grace that I've found my way back to him. I have been given many new beginnings, so I should really slap myself really hard on the face for judging another in their vulnerable state. God forgive me.

Of course, things will take time to heal. I've never lots a close friend so abruptly, and truly... it sucks! Maybe God is teaching me to know the frustration that had been experienced by the other.... ai yo... But with many other relationship scrambles, only time can erase the past. God knows every corner of my heart. I believe that through prayer, he will guide me every step of the way so that I can always act according to what is pleasing to his eyes. I firmly trust in him, that although it may not be anytime soon, that he will restore relationships and grant us what he has planned for us.
