In Sunday service today I tried to quiet my heart down in preparation for worship. There were a mixture of emotions inside my heart and I was trying to block them out as I wanted to focus on the presence of the Lord. Then, all of a sudden I realized that I was so foolish, because the whole purpose of coming before the Lord at church, of surrendering ourselves to him, is to be totally open and honest about how we feel especially when we are in his presence! That is how we can receive his mercy and grace, and the awesomeness of his healing! I don't know why I never really thought about it that way, although I have certainly heard it in many prayers and even myself prayed to "come to you as we are, Oh Lord". It was entirely liberating :o) I remembered the moment when something clicked in my head, and I poured out all all the aches of my heart to him and asked simply for God to just heal me. I thought, I am going to write about this in my blog tonight. So, here I am!
And on a slightly related note, this song has been in my head all week. Whenever I get ready to pray, it would creep its way into my head. It's almost as if God himself was trying to say something to me through this song.
Open the Eyes of my heart Lord
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You
To see You high and lifted up
Shinin' in the light of Your glory
Pour out Your power and love
As we sing holy, holy, holy
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
Open the eyes of my heart
I want to see You
I want to see You
To see You high and lifted up
Shinin' in the light of Your glory
Pour out Your power and love
As we sing holy, holy, holy
