Not quite yet

For the longest time I wanted nothing more than to get married and start a family of my own. I had graduated from college and held some solid years of work experience in "the real world". I had lived on my own for a while, and felt like I was independent. Yes, I thought I was ready for marriage and kids. So I prayed to God faithfully, for those things that are my hearts' desire.

Strangely, I haven't been feeling as strong of an urge to do that lately... Instead, the desire to do God's will and the realization that I need to wait patiently for his will to be done have been growing stronger and in both my heart and mind. God has humbled me by showing me some aspects of myself that still need maturing before I can become a wife and a mother. Apart from growing closer to him, there are many other things I feel that he would like to teach me before I am ready.

The desire is still there, however. As I help plan Wendy and David's wedding this summer, the pictures at the decorators really make me want to get married. I can't help but give great sighs as I flip through her album and think about what colour chair sashes I would want myself. What can I say? I'm a romantic at heart. Thought I feel peace in my heart that if I wait patiently, some day that day will come. And when that day comes God would have prepared my heart (and his) to be right and ready. I take refuge in my trust of the LORD.
