Fogiven

The night before yesterday, I didn't sleep well. For some reason I was suddenly haunted by the image of past sinful behaviours. I can't believe I did those things! It felt so unreal, especially after months of living in the pureness (or at least, tried pureness). It feels like I have come into the light, but I can't let the dark past escape me.

At Chapel the next day, we did communion. Paul Stevens reminded us to remember that we are a forgiven people. We were asked to take a few minutes in silence to thank God for his forgiveness, and to remember to live our lives eucharistically in God's spirit at all times. If we are not sinners, we are not to come before the communion table to receive Christ's body, broken for our transgressions.

There's nothing greater than living in the Joy of Jesus Christ. In him I desire to be pure and Holy, although I will never measure up to his standards. Even still, having been sort of a 'bad girl' (definitely to church standards, heh) I now know the wonderful light that is God, and the liberating of the soul in living under the perfect laws of God. Of course, it is easy for us to stray. My heart knows its desire is God and his ways, but the ways of the world are wicked and seeps into your heart like a snake. I look to God again, bowed down and humbled as a sinner, in awe of the fact that he forgives, loves, and accepts me, in shock of the fact that he still wants to use me to do great things in his name, and in complete gratefulness that in Christ I am be born again anew.

No longer stings
