Tonight was a yummy night. I made chicken broth with a whole chicken in mommy's clay pot. I added some diced apples and pears along with all the other Chinese herbal goodies and stuffed the chicken like there was no tomorrow! Julie and I also made banana-chocolate chip muffins. Actually, she did most of the making, I think I measured the cups of flour and chocolate chips. They turned out to be excellent. Nowadays Julie and I find ourselves taking turns saying "好好吃喔!" during dinner time. Not sure why, but whenever we eat together we always end up with a million dishes on the table. Sort of like how the 5 loafs and 2 fish turned into enough food to feed thousands. And trust me, sometimes it feels like when we eat together we both have apetites for thousands... :o)We packed up some food and made a visit to Ingrid's, who is unfortunately afflicted withbronchitis :( Hope the chicken soup will help. She lives with 3 other girls in the basement of this huge house in near King Ed and 25th. I told Julie a house like this would have to have at least 5 kids running around inside to make lively. She agreed.

All this kid talk and after listening to David Tao's 愛很簡單 repeatedly last night, I told Julie '我好想談戀愛!'. I do miss that feeling of being in love, or being infatuated rather. I wonder when I will meet that special person? It's so exciting to think that God is in control and since he knows me better than I know myself, he's got the right person picked out for me already. And right now he is living and breathing (probably sleeping!) somewhere in this world. I wonder what he's like, his demeanor and his thoughts, his hobbies and interests, what his relationship with God is like. Since my last relationship ended a while back, my outlook on relationships have changed drastically. God has spoken to me and told me that I need to be patient, to trust him, and to focus on him for the time being. True, I believe that I need to stay put as a single gal for a while so that I can grow closer to God. In fact I am enjoying things the way they are. I don't feel ready to share myself with someone of the opposite sex as more than a friend at the moment. In fact, it's hard for me to imagine what it would take for me to want to enter into a relationship with someone. I would result from a wanting, not a needing, since I am content at current state. My relationship with God fulfills my need for someone to fully rely on, as it should be. Then when the time is right, the romantic relationship that I become involved in will fully honour God. It will truly be a gift from God, something that I would have received from him through the test of patience and Faith. Prayer is important, and I pray for my future husband to have these qualities:
- Someone who is a good Christan who loves God above all else
- Someone who challenges me intellectually, who I can relate to on an academic level
- Someone who shares my love for animals (my 2 cats) and my dreams of having a family
- Someone whom I find attractive
- Someone who is active
- Someone who appreciates music like I do
- Someone who shares the same cultural background as I do, or someone who appreciates and respects my cultural background
I put this list here to remind myself, and have others remind of, of what I have asked God for in a guy. In times when I am about to jump into a relationship, short changing myself of what God's prepared for me, I hope this will make me think twice. For now, I wait patiently for God to bring the right person into my life.
