Expanding in all directions

I know this is going to sound totally nerdy, but I'd like to compare my faith to something I had to model with VBA recently in class. I had to write a code that would calculate the stresses and strains on a cylindrical cavity in its expansion. I feel like my faith in Christ is growing in all directions, as in I am living as a Christian in all aspects of my life, not just some. I want to obey God in fullness, and in all the ways of my life. Six months ago, I wouldn't think twice before sleeping in the same bed as my boyfriend. Today, I will not share my bed with any man who is not my husband, no matter how extremely close I am to him. A year ago, I would defend the support for a "pro choice" policy. Today, I think that only God has the power to give life, and only God has the power to take away. What a transformation! To the secular world, giving up things such as sex and alcohol may seem like giving up the liberty of free love that the 70s brought on. Yet, as I was sharing with Julie tonight, the desire of my hearts do not include those things because it is my heart's desire to obey the Lord and with obedience comes satisfaction, and Christ's joy and peace.

I've been hoping that a friend of mine would come to church with me this week. I was disappointed that when we spoke tonight, he frankly told me that he just wasn't ready to go to church yet. But then the more I thought about it, the more I thought that maybe it was God's will that he didn't come this week. Always being confident in my ability to preside and help out on the worship team, I was sure he would come to a 'good service' (as in because I was on the worship team and I was presiding). But I have been praying to the Lord for humbleness! Besides, if I really cared about my friend and his spirituality, I would choose for him to come on a day that I wasn't presiding, so that I could be by his side to make his first visit to a new church as comfortable as possible. Thank you God for this reminder! I will continue to invite my friend to church next week, because I simply feel that he would really enjoy it. I have grown so much in my faith through 12:30 that I want everyone to try it. If you bought a laptop and you really loved it, wouldn't you desperately recommend it to all your good friends?

The Lord has answered my prayer. He has given me peace and thankfulness in my heart. The joy that I feel is that I've never felt before in the 25 years of my life. Finally, I am learning the meaning of being joyful in all situations. Of seeing the goodness of God in all of life's circumstances. He's there, caring for us, calling us, loving us, and protecting us. We just find to open our hearts and accept him. Trust me, you won't regret it!
