The Lord is my strength

My heart finds peace and liberation in trusting the Lord - to accept the life I've been given with joy and gratitude and the circumstances I face with obedience and humility, to know that I need not to worry about the "what if's" and "what could've" been, but all is according to God's good plan, to surrender my life to Christ, and to desire to do all that please him.

In talking to a friend the other night, she had mentioned that she felt like she has had to do a lot of growing up lately. She was learning to make her own decisions, rather than listening to those of others and her parents. I on the other hand, feel completely opposite. At times before, I've felt like I was 30 years old. Perhaps I grew up way too fast, having been on my own since the age of 18, I have had plenty of chances to make my own decisions, half of the time screw up royally, re-think, learn, and move on.

I have long been praying to God for a pure heart filled with the fruits of the spirit. To be his "humble melodious servant". And more and more I am noticing and realizing that through various events that have been occurring in my life, God has been molding and shaping me into the many things that I've asked the Holy Spirit to transform me into. God is amazing. If I ask to be more patient, he won't just wave his magic wand and 'boom' I can wait in line for 3 hours and not become agitated. Through life's rich experiences God shapes us into what we pray/long to be, granted that it is good and pleasing in his eyes. No, I do not account my becoming more trusting (in him), humble, and self-controlled to the fact that I am "older" but to God and his grace alone. And through every step of the way he has always been my rock and my strength, answering each of my prayers and shining his guiding light before my stumbling feet..

Thanks be to God ;o)
