At the end of it, what will we see when we look back?
Although we are lonely, we have come to know God's presence.
Although we are heartbroken, we have grown.
For truly,
you are not who you were,
And I not who I was.
How can I be I,
and I be anew?
Christ must live within me,
for the tearing of flesh brings insurmountable pain,
and the wage of sin is death.
So in the dark valley, I died.
But now,
He lives in me,
forevermore.

What once was hurt
What once was friction
What left a mark
No longer stings
Because Grace makes beauty
Out of ugly things
What once was friction
What left a mark
No longer stings
Because Grace makes beauty
Out of ugly things
