The human heart needs to find its centre in Jesus in order to stay grounded. Feelings are so fleeting and it is easy to give into the vulnerability of heart, perhaps to settle for something that is less than what God has planned for us. It is important, I think, to recognize that vulnerability in ourselves and when temptation arrives, turn to God in prayer, asking him to help us stand firm. Deep in my heart, the Lord tells me to wait upon him. If I need to walk through this period of loneliness, I willingly obey, if that is what you are asking of me.
