God's little miracles

I was feeling rather stressed out tonight.  A job opportunity that I had been excited about didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, I got into a minor upset with P, and I was still looking for a place to stay in Kyoto.  All the hostels I had e-mailed in the last few days were booked up, and it was starting to look like I would be stuck with staying in a room for $150CAD per night.  It didn't help that at dinner, mom was trying psycho-analyze me.  I knew she meant well, but the attention just made me feel even more put on the spot and irritated.  I hadn't slept well the night before, and I guess my low mood must have shown.

I remember in the afternoon feeling upset when I hadn't heard from P - a mixture of frustration and annoyance.  I was partly frustrated because I let myself be so affected by his lateness.  Tears are no stranger to me.  And I cried into the pillow wondering what the heck as wrong with me (perhaps it was that time of the month again?).  I prayed to God that he would help me out of the rut that I was in.

After we got home from dinner tonight, Ms. J messaged me out of the blue on IM.  She asked me how I was and the following conversation took place...

Janice - "Heya girl!"
Me - "Hi!"
Janice - "How are you?"
Me - "Bleh! I feel bleh! A job situation didn't turn out the way I want to, I'm tired and feel bloated, haven't found a place to stay in Kyoto yet, and I feel ugly!"
Janice - "Aww..... let me help you out..."

And then she went on to do the most amazing thing right before my eyes (on the computer screen of course).  Within a matter of minutes, she had found me half a dozen websites for different hotels.  I quickly found one that I thought was reasonable and booked it.  When I told J how much it cost, she looked up another place for me, and actually booked the hotel for me with her Japonaise extraordinaire.  I was so touched by her kind gesture, and thanked for profusely as I believe that she was a Godsend.

God is good, he is so good.  I had prayed that I would find a place to stay in Kyoto, albeit it was somewhat half-hearted and full of doubt.  Yet, His Grace shone through again.  I see what happened tonight as just another example of how God keeps his promises and will provide.  So perhaps now I should stop worrying ;)

What once was hurt
What once was friction
What left a mark
No longer stings
Because Grace makes beauty
Out of ugly things
