Last Day at the Kitty Shop

Today was my last day working at the Kitty Shop for a while.  I had told my boss I wanted to concentrate on my thesis and today she told me another girl could take my Friday shifts.  So that's it, I'm done there.  As I walked home, I couldn't help but feel well, a little sad.  I suppose it was about the time that I started working at the Kitty Shop that my faith had really started to grow (exponentially, for those of you math geeks, including myself!).  So, looking back over the past 1.5 years working at the shop, it's almost as if left as a different person.

When business is slow at the shop, I have a lot time to think.  During those times, my thoughts often reflect exactly how I am doing in life at the moment.  I can remember feeling a range of emotions while working at the shop, anxiety, anger, sadness, hopelessness, tiredness.  Yet, I also remember times of extreme joy, happiness, hopefulness, gratefulness, peacefulness.  I have lots of time to think about God,  to contemplate in Him, and God has used those times to speak to me in many ways.

I would like to talk more about my experiences at the shop, what I think God has taught me through my time working there.  But perhaps I will save that for another night as I am tired.  But lastly, I want to say that I am so thankful to God that he gave me the opportunity to work there.  To many it may just seem like a random job that doesn't pay so well and is way out of my 'field'.  But to me it will always remain as a special period of time in my life, when I gained friendship, humbleness, and faith.  Oh yeah, I also gained lots of cute stuff, and lots of good food! :)
